My cry for help!

I am not even looking for it, searching it out but it is there; in my face.
And I don't even live in NYC anymore! I live on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and even here it found me. What you inquire? Paris Hilton! Ack! I am not even going to go into why it is so wrong that she is news...others have done it and I am sure better than I could...my cry for help? Please oh please all, including me, stop paying attention to her. Just stop. Pay attention to your life. Stop buying anything with her on the cover, inside as a story (ahem!)...anything about her. Truly punish her. I know it is not anywhere near Christmas but this is what I am asking for this year! Oh I hope it comes early. Please Virginia let it be so.

I'm just saying...

Another late fee

Another late fee I did incur just last week.
I was late in bringing back a movie, again.
I am happy about this late fee.
I could not get to the movie store by deadline.
I was tied up. Occupied.
Busy. Having fun.
I use to watch a lot of movies, dvds.
Now the dvds sit there by my bed.
Sit there looking longingly at the dvd player.
Often taking them back unwatched and a late fee.
I am happy for these late fees.

It happened this last weekend...

entry numero uno (which would denote more to come)
A wedding. A cermony took place. Vows exchanged. Rings traded and secured on fingers. Pictures snapped even a few tears dropped. The DJ spun tunes, lyrics were shouted out, doin the butt dance was done, wine poured, beer chugged, cake cut, a fork won, and of course...if you were at this particular New York wedding with me this last weekend; the Hamburger Beater came to life!

What is the HB (which it will now be referred to as from here on out) you dare ask? Or did I just ask that? Or am I hearing voices?

No voices but my own just the recovery from 15 Sam Adams, 3 Kamikazie shots, A piece of chicken and 2 tomatoes, a combination of 11 hours of sleep over a three day period, 10 Coors Lights, 3 Budweisers, one fourth of a hamburger from the Elbow Room, 4 bites of wedding cake, 6 sips of a Diet Coke, 7 bites of a spicy hot pork chinese plate, 1 Blue Moon beer with what I am pretty sure was a rotten orange slice, half of a BLT, 1 bottle of Smart water (if you have to ask then you are not well..ah how do I say this nicely? Not smart), a cup of coffee, seven hours of sitting on my ass driving from New York back to the Eastern Shore, and...wait where was I?
Yes, the HB. Wait, what was that noise? oh my boss is here. Got to go...I will be back later to continue on and tell you all about the HB as well as other tidbits from what I now will call...

"My Wedding weekend extravaganza!" It was superb, amazing even.

Till later...

Nice to meet you

My name is Tess.
At times I can be a mess.
I like peppermint patty candy,
my mama doesnt know this but they make me randy.
I speak when I think a stranger is about,
I want you to know with me people must have clout.
I am a funny little creature that is for sure,
Once I get in your blood there is no cure!
Yeah that is right my name is Tess.
I am the queen of dogs no more and no less!

What do I miss?

I just went to NYC for the weekend. My first time back since my move to the Eastern Shore of Virginia a mere 8 months ago. Wow. It was fun. I expected it to be sad and it was the opposite. It was exciting, validating, reassuring. I had made the right move afterall at just the right exact time I needed to. It was fantastic. I went down to the west village and crashed on into one of my old stomping grounds. A bar called Fiddlesticks; to have one beverage, one beer, to use the bathroom. Four hours, four beers and four conversations with a cute Irish bartender later and all was as it should be! I then headed to Corner Bistro - by far the best hamburger in the city. Munched on a huge burger and sipped a McSorleys, read my Vanity Fair and just had a lovely time. Then off to the Art Bar on 8th ave before heading to midtown, west side of it to meet with old NYC friends and more beverage. I sat at the Art bar alone. There was a hustle bustle all around me, it was packed with people out celebrating the weekend to come and all seemed high on happy - afterall it was Friday early evening in the greatest city in the world. I was sitting there alone and yet I was so far from alone. I soaked it all in. Me there, the city...hey it was all still going on and going on strong and vibrant without me. It hit me. The only thing I had missed about this brilliant city, for it is and I highly recommend everyone living there at least once in their lives, was that I missed Asian food! Thai, Chinese, etc...A major problem with a simple solution. Saturday dinner? Thai. Sunday lunch? Vietnamese. All good. All set. Now back to the Eastern Shore of Virginia...after a quick rest stop in up state New York! I am where I want to be for now and damn it Gumby that feels great. And when I am not I shall move on.

Sierra Series Entry #3

Title:

Ode to the Special Ones
Or
Speciality Drafts oh you are so special
Or
Speciality drafts so special are you
Or
Ah Crap titles are too hard, just write the poem!

Oh my India Pale Ale you are so divine.
Your blended English malts go down my throat so fine.
Goldings for your finishing and dry hopping create a perfect sensation.
You are so flavorful and much better than a play station.

Then there is the traditional dark and flavorful Brown Ale.
With your blend of roasted and carmalized malts to my heart you do so sail!
Oh my your renowned British aromatic goldings hop send me in a whirl.
Your delightful malt character turns me right back into a little girl (say like mike Meyers)

But wait shall I dare to discuss the filtered wheat beer Crystal Wheat?
Barley malt and wheat all mixed into one oh dear oh what a treat!
A clean finish that is just to die for.
A great choice for brew novices, in other words not good for a whore.

I have to say at times I am partial to the Blonde Ale [pause, look]
A mild pale colored specimen excites me to no avail.
Possessing the Maris Otter English malt and hops from Slovenia.
I have no idea what any of that is but alas I have to say it makes me pop a veinia!

Oh then we come to the popular English Best Bitter Ale.
Such praise for itself, such confidence creating of drinkers a long trail.
Brewed using only imported malts and hops.
So very drinkable and much loved by firemen and cops.

The best for last I can now say not in a whisper or a yell.
The unfiltered ale known as Ruthless Weiss Beer for now I will tell.
A fermented ale with only special wheat beer yeast and clove like spiciness.
Contains vanilla, nutmeg, even a reminiscent of bananas and apples creating no crankiness!

Those are dem, the special ones the ones I love no matter what!
Six lovely specials, such treats they often do give me a little tingle in the butt!

Today is your day so get on your way!

Today is May Day, a day on which you should wash your face with morning dew to keep yourself looking young and beautiful. You should also gather wildflowers and green branches, make some floral garlands, and set up a Maypole to dance around.
or...
eat two slim jims, some munchos, drink a litre of diet coke and fall asleep on the couch at noon.
Up to you. That is the point.

Two martinis, two beers and no dinner

As you can see since i've moved to the eastern shore of Virginia my hair has grown out just a little bit. In length and area occupation.
This is a picture that my dog Angus snapped of me this morning.
How did I get to this state?
It was not difficult.
Last night met a friend at a local establishment after work. Decided to treat myself special. Hey it is Wednesday afterall and I am still alive and semi well.
"A gin, dry, dirty martini on the rocks please" I like it on the rocks because it makes me feel a tad bit better about myself knowing that a little water will at some point meet the gin before it enters my body.
It also sounds better than calling it what it is...a small vat of gin! Less classy.
Like school on Saturday I am...no class.
Oh why not one more martini? I mean as long as you don't go for the third one you are ok or so they say. What they don't (whoever they is by the by) mention is that yes you will be fine if you don't go for the third but maybe not so much if you then move to a dark import beer. Two to be exact.
Once at home the night then proceeded to go down hill.
First with my dog - he was not happy with me at all. I was late afterall and I delayed his one meal way past his breaking point or shall I say peeing point? He stood tall, proud with a determined unforgiving look on his bicycle seat shaped head face and peed in the kitchen...a lot of pee. I then let him out and the last I saw of him for the eve was his ass as he bolted into the night. Even the promise of a large chunk of prime rib could not bring him back. He was out for the night.
I didn't mind. I had things to do. Well one thing to do. Ok two. Drink a glass of white chilled wine and boogey for an hour to Neil Young, old Neil Young. Nice. I now have a few new very nice very put together dance routines for future parties or if on a small stage.
Then to bed I did go. Out before head hit pillow.
Woke and there was the dog, camera and the same unforgiving look on his face.
Snap, flash and here I am.
The moral of this little diddy? If your dog doesn't want it; the chunk o prime rib? Perhaps you should eat it, call it dinner and a night.

Imagine me

I am only only an image.
A blip on a television screen.
I am here, there and then not.
In motion at times, fuzzy often.
Bump into others where I push, jostle and collide.
Flickering across a path of many, stopping to touch a select few.
I am alone in the box, center stage for all to witness.
A day of vividness and clarity.
The next cloudy, desparate and unaware.
I am laughter out loud, stitches in a side.
Freedom and constriction all in one screaming.
Tears of joy and pain trickle out of me.
I see other images; some dark and then some overflow with light.
I tell you when I am hurting, happy as well as afraid.
I have another image. Several at times.
One that stands behind and many next to me.
I drift yet not without purpose.
My image scatters when thoughts of others alone come to me.
I am sad at your lonliness, you without other images to touch nor hold.
Your image can erase mine without thought, hesitation.
I am not against the theory I shall one day fade.
I embrace the notion and live through it each day.
Every episode I star in, support others in I am aware.
I only desire, wish and pray that you in your lonliness
will not blot out my sun, drive me away, turn me off...
even change my channel.
I am only an image.
Flickering, dancing and graciously often whispering
outloud to anyone that will listen;
I am grateful to be an image.

May peace be with those that are suffering and in pain that are tied around and into VA Tech.
To them all and to others in pain, alone images, I wish a day, an hour if only just a minute of release from it.

Friday the 13th is only bad if you think it is.

Happy Friday the 13th people!

"Daffodils"
(1804)

I WANDER'D lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretch'd in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed -- and gazed -- but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
By William Wordsworth (1770-1850).

In related news...

just discovered that four ladies that are friends DO indeed share A brain. More coverage later on what their day to day life is like.
Either that or the Denver Bronco football team held cheerleader tryouts last week.
Conducting more research as you read...

I am sad today

I did not know the man but loved his film!
"Hey Ralphie wait up!"
No words can I say to their family to make it ok.
Just that I enjoyed your movie... it made me laugh and for that
I am forever thankful.
peace.

Poem Deux in the "Sierra Series"

Title:
A fairer Sierra for me.
Or At last I found the one.
Or You’ll do!

A night with you Sierra Nevada Porter I so did not dread.
I looked forward to enjoying your medium bodied ale with a creamy head.
Alas it was not to be for when I walked into the bar I did so halt.
For there you were in the corner spreading with that woman your deep roasted barley malts.
I should have known from the start, from the get go,
Your smooth flavor, malty with hints of caramel from me some day you would blow.
Fine I shall adjust; I will find another, go to a new love.
After all perhaps it is time for someone paler, smoother more light bodied, fitting more like a glove.
I spied Sierra Wheat Beer lounging in the corner over by the dart board.
I became excited for an unfiltered ale brewed with premium malted wheat, oh my oh lord!
I shall sample you oh dear wheat one, dip into your characteristically spicy strissel spalt hops from France.
The lightest of the Sierra Nevadas I am sure not too many I will need before I am happy, delighted in my pants.
And then just when I thought all was going fantastically with the two of us,
Your eye did wander and off with your loads of flavor did you saunter away leaving my hair all a muss!
Ah but the night is still young and so am I...in maturity and responsibility at least.
Now that I think of it Sierra wheat was too full of itself, overpowering with yeast!
Just then out of my eye did I catch a new face, a new sheriff was in town, fresh meat per say.
The award winning Bigfoot Ale sitting there so close, very near by boasting a dense, fruity bouquet.
Well hello there big fella I uttered so softly, even letting out a perfect purr.
Bigfoot’s extremely rich, intense palate caused within me oh such a stir.
Swishing its deep reddish brown color just so and taunting me to engage
How could I not let go and be with Mr. Bigfoot and create a memorable life page?
I cannot resist its character full with hoppiness like never I have felt.
An earthy aroma, its chewy palate and great depth of flavor truly now causing me to inside melt. At last I had found the one, the king of all the Sierras!
Caution to the wind I did throw and not a one did I possess of careas!
Alas, that was last night and all but now just a memory floating in my very much in need of many Advil head.
Off to the bathroom I now tromp, even slink along the wall in pain yet not wanting to let go, still to the fantasy I desire to be fed.
Oh my Sierra dear I am happy every time I’m with you.
You are so intense, malty, bittersweet, thick, tangy and possess such a wonderful hoppy chew.
Oh my Sierras I do so love you all.
I cannot help but totally and utterly, unaquivably into your love fall!

Quote of the week....I had to

"I saw them. There were four of them and I thought there are four of us, that is if we find the lady. Oh, Hello Lady!" - Fezzik, aka Andre The Giant, Princess Bride

Yes it's hot NOW, but in the fall it will be cool and you will need me more than ever!
